The Easiest No-Knead Bread Ever!
I'm going to show you how to make a bread this is totally foolproof! Maybe you've made bread before and it didn't turn out right. Maybe you are afraid to even try. Well, I'm here to show you how to make a SUPER tasty loaf that NO ONE could mess up. Yep. Not kidding. Here's what you do: Mix together in the biggest bowl you have (yea, it expands):
3 cups of flour (all purpose or bread flour, doesn't matter)
1 cup of whole wheat flour (or another cup of white flour, I just like the flavor and texture the w.w. gives it)
1/4 tsp active yeast
1 1/2 tsp salt
2 cups water
Stir together. It's gonna be dry, then sticky, you'll think you totally screwed it all up, but you didn't. Trust me.
Stick some foil on it and set it on your counter for 18 hours. Yea, you heard that right. 18.
Dampen your counter and lay down some plastic wrap~ Check it out! It sticks! (Easy clean up) Sprinkle some flour on there. Dump out this sticky mess:
Put some flour on top to be able to handle it without it sticking to your hands. Don't knead. Shape into a loaf-ish shape. Then transfer to a baking pan with parchment on it (or not, I just like the clean up) and some olive oil and light dusting of corn meal (makes the bottom crunchy=nice). Now cover with a towel and let rise for 2 hours. Go check Facebook. See how easy this is???
Then bake at 425 for 30 minutes. Get out a stick of butter (yea, the real stuff). Behold the wonder of your artisan bread you just made. I guarantee that loaf (if you have teenagers) will be gone in 2 days. They will love you (more than they already do) :)
